Magee Marsh

Magee Marsh Wildlife Area is center of activity every year at the Biggest Week in American Birding. The boardwalk going through a swampy wooded area is a popular destination for warbler-watchers every spring and fall as large flocks of the birds migrate through the area. In spring, the area is teaming with many species of warblers, most in abundant numbers. Before trying to cross the vast expanses of Lake Erie, the birds rest at Magee Marsh, feeding on insects in the woods to get enough energy for the last leg of their northeward journey to Canada.
